W4E4 - Power of framing
Stoic phycological exercise of the "Art gallery". The context within which we frame a psychological event will have a profound effect on our emotional response to that event. It is not how the wrong is done that matters but how it is taken. Seneca
"Another person will not do you harm unless you wish it." Epictetus
We have full control on how we frame events in our life. Life is like an art gallery, and we are the curator. Paintings are events in our daily lives. We have influence but little ability to control over what paintings hang in our gallery, we have extensive control over how these paintings are frame. Pick a frame of victimhood and you'll never grow. Time will pass you by because you are telling you brain and your inner child that you don't have any control over your life. Pick a frame that put you in control, a frame of responsibility, and you'll learn from any events in your life. You'll grow and get better. You'll get closer to the best version of your Self. don't focus on how many seeds the birds got. You cannot control that. Frame the birds as the sublime work of nature. Birds are the natural course of events. They are a caressing hand from above. All you need to focus on is to stay in the field and keep on sawing, the only thing you really control. Frame the birds as sublime and you'll be even more focus on the next set of seeds to scatter in your field. That's the power of framing. Any event, even being tortured in a concentration camp, can be used to get closer to the best version of our selves. Let's stay on that path, let's stay on the daily path!
